EBPS and MAP?

Got MIL for EBPS monday(12/31) pulled off the tube cleaned, stuck a pick up into the elbow type thing and pulled out some carbon buttoned her up and drove. Noticed surging this morning checked for codes and i have p0069 map/baro correlation. Pulled EBPS on lunch(hoping still had carbon) sure enough sensor and topside of elbow bracket full of carbon, didnt get to clean out everyting that i wanted to, but still noticing surge while driving/idling, and no/low whistle at idle. Do i chase the map now or keep cleaning carbon until i get it right?

do you have any way of monitoring the EBP/MAP/BARO pids? with the key on and engine off, being that they're all atmospheric pressure sensors, they should read pretty close to each other. within .2-.3 of a psi. you can try cleaning your MAP sensor port in the intake too, it'll plug up just like the EBP tube.

it's still possible the turbo is sticking or the VGT solenoid is bad.

id have to use the stone age modis at work ("updated" recently by snap-on dealer) its soo slow i hate using it but that might be my only option. I put my small code reader on and drove home and noticed intermittently i would see map drop to 0-7-14-normal-normal-10(approximate numbers) i hope the turbo isnt dirty but its definitely possible, just more than i wanna do in a cold drive way and more that i can swing at work on luch break.

absolutely could.
is this an early 04? or late? if it's early, and the truck has had the pcm recalibration, ebp will be a calculated value.
check for soot on the firewall. a leaking y pipe can also throw this code

build date is 03/04, but would a leaking pipe cause surge? or no/low whistle @idle?

it doesn't usually cause surging. was just something that could checked quickly with a creeper and a flashlight.
considering the build date, i don't believe you have the inferred ebp reflash.i would do as sinner had suggested and compare ebp, map and baro KOEO

pulled the sensor out again yesterday on lunch and actually cleaned. Tunrns out i had dont virtually no cleaning on the elbow where sensor and tube meet when i finally got it clean i raced and did the same to map tube, hose, nipple and all were fine. Cleared and have been driving without codes so far. Im going to consider ebps general maintainance from now on. Thanks for your help everyone
