2004 6.0 Periodic No Start
I have a 2004 F350 with the 6.0. I have had a few problems over the years (turbo vanes stuck causing over boost, faulty EGR and bad FICM). These items were all either repaired or replaced. No major problems in the past year or so.
Periodically (4 times in about 5 months), the truck refuses to start on its own. The voltages are good with no codes. The outside temp doesn't seem to be an issue and the problem has occurred with the engine cold or warm. To get the truck started, I use a starter fluid (I know this isn't a good idea) and the engine fires right up. The truck runs fine with good power and the no start issue doesn't occur again sometimes for months. Again, the no start condition seems to be random, not affected by outside temps or with the engine hot or cold. The Ford dealership service department can't find the problem and a local diesel repair shop hasn't come up with a solution either. Any thoughts, recommendations etc. would be greatly appreciated.
