New Member needs help w/ strange noise

I just joined the org a couple of days ago and I think I see posts with the same question as mine, but here goes anyway. My '05 cc has developed a "whine" or "wheeze" noise that seems to be coming from the driverside of the engine compartment. I know the noise is not turbe whine, and I occasionally hear it about 10 seconds after I shut the truck off. This noise is short in duration and happens when the tranny (auto) shifts to the higher gears. It sounds sort of like air being sucked past a loose hose connection. I pulled my air filter and dusting out today and found the rubeer hose going into the turbo not on properly, so I fixed that myself, it helped some, but I still have the noise. Any suggestions ??

Thanks for tha bump Evil Eyes, and thanks to everyone else writing threads and leaving info! Just an update, I cured my phantom noise (and puking problems) by replacing the degas bottle cap. The noise that I had been hearing was the cooling system venting pressure and coolant. Stealership wanted $100 just to diagnose the problem, and I fixed in with a $4.30 cap thanks to my local O'Rielly. While I was under the hood I also took a few tips and pulled and cleaned my EGR valve. 75,000 miles on the truck and it looked as though it had never been pulled and cleaned. Now, my PSD will out run, out pull and all around out perform my dad's slummins (as it should be).
Thanks again everybody!!!
