Loud engine

Well i've had this issue for a little while and thought bad injectors had a little to do with it, but it didnt change after i did the injectors. The engine is either the same if not a little louder running as it was before i did the injectors (which was just yesterday). What can cause this? It almost sounds like exhaust leak, but I havent heard many issues with exhaust leaks on these trucks. I'm thinking ill replace all exhaust gaskets and V-clamps and see what changes.

What do you guys think?

Exhaust manifolds can leak where they bolt to heads, up pipe flex joints crack.

Ok, this will be a future job, I want to get what i got started now finished. I will check the up pipes out. The passenger side up pipe has been replaced with EGR delete up pipe which was 2 years ago. It does sound a little more prevalent on the drivers side. How hard are the exhaust manifolds to get off?

Depends on if the bolts break in the heads. Look around the ports where they bolt up for signs of soot. Also look at the firewall behind the up pipe for soot.

Alright, ill do this. I hope to find something. Working at the GM proving grounds in Milford, Mi sucks cause all the GM guys give me such a hard time when you can hear the engine over the exhaust at the rear of the truck.

They can't help that they like their pansy trucks compared to a real truck. They're brain washed!
