Remove the HPOP, the kit will come with new orings for under it as well.

The pump has to be removed in order to install the new updated STC fitting. It's not hard only a couple other bolts to remove to pull the pump after you get the cover off.

ok cool so when you put the pump back in did u have to set the gear backlash? i was reading the ford manual and it had said that. but if u dont mess with the gear i dont see why you would half too.

Just drop it back in the way it came out, bolt it down and grab the gear and rock it side to side, you will feel it has meshed correctly.

There are indexing dowels on the bottom of the pump. Those are what sets gear lash alignment. As long as the dowels are not damaged or removed you should be able to set it back down and be good to go.
