That's what I was thinking. Well if that's the case, I hate to say it but we have to part ways. I don't make as much money as I used to, when I bought the truck. Wish I did but I don't have that kind of money to sink into it. May have to cut my losses and sell it for what I owe, if I can even get that.

Well before you get to that point spend the money and test the cooling system with a pressure test and or exhaust gas test in the cooling system with strips.

Here is a link to the writeup I did on a budget cooling system pressure test. Also if you try selling the truck with blown head gaskets your are going to lose your A$$ in that deal.

Yes I did my own in my driveway with no power tools other than two cordless impact guns. The link to my build thread detailing the process is in my signature if your interested. It's not a hard or PITA task. It just takes time, persistence and patience.

Ill check it out. I'm fairly mechanical. I did all the stuff in my signature myself. Hardest part is finding time

I probably already know the answer this, but if it is a possibility that it is my head gaskets I probably shouldn't drive it huh? What other damage will it do if I do drive it and it turns out to be the head gaskets?

I drove mine for a few months knowing it was blown. I also had 3 out of 4 cracked heads. (I bought 2 extra heads before I started tearing mine down just incase mine were cracked and also to speed the process up.) The extra heads were both cracked and one of my heads that were on the truck were cracked.

Really anything is a possibility you could baby it while you save the money to fix it and be totally fine. Or you could drive it tomorrow and crack both heads. In reality when the head gaskets go in these trucks anything is possible. It's really a luck of the draw.

Yea I read through some of your thread on the rebuild. Doesn't look to hard. Only thing is I don't have access to any type of lift to get the heads off.

Yeah it's not difficult AT ALL!! Really it's very simple. Everything can only come apart and go back together one way. Just have to take your time and pay attention to what your doing that's all. If you decide to keep the truck and do the work yourself let me know when the time comes and I'll PM you my number and you can ask anything you need for help to get the job done.

Also if you need parts or sources to get parts let me know I'll get you hooked up.

Also I am pretty sure some places will let you rent a cherry picker. And if not Harbor Freight has them for sale for $219 for a 2 ton engine hoist. Use it once then sell it when your done or keep it around.
