Stuttered & Died on highway

Stuttered a week ago but went away, then last night it did it again and truck shut down. When tried to restart it it acted like it was getting no fuel. I heard the pump though... Then I noticed it was not building any oil pressure while cranking it. Sounds like my hpop died. Has 215,000 miles on it so it lasted a long time. Does that sound right to anyone else?

Do you have a monitoring solution? It's possible the hpop sensor died. On the newer trucks it's on the passenger side valve cover. Unplug it and try to start the truck again.

Does the needle on the dash gauge move? If it does then your lpop is good.

No monitoring system . Do you mean the oil pressure needle? If so no it doesn't move.

It will only move after a long crank condition. Are you using motorcraft filters and caps?

Try unplugging the icp sensor it's much more likely for it to go bad then the hpop.

Always motorcraft filters, I have a billet cap that came with my oil filtration system. Where is the icp sensor?

Funny thing is this just happened to me two days ago. Make sure your batteries are fully charged and trying cranking it for about 15 to 20 seconds and im willing to bet the oil pressure gauge will begin to go up. Thats what mine did. I pulled the IPR valve and a piece of the screen was missing at the bottom of it and i could see that it was jammed inside the actual IPR. I have a new IPR valve now ready to go in tomorrow.

On your passenger side valve cover it is right next to the glow plug controller. Just a two wire plug. Right behind the alternator.

Your IPR valve is under the turbo.... And your ICP sensor is on your passanger valve cover. If you dont have the right tool to take out the IPR then you will have to remove your turbo, Then a big adjustable wrench can be used.
