Coolant flush, Coolant filter
Just had my oil cooler and EGR cooler diagnosed as bad so ordered new and will be replacing soon. Also ordered a coolant filter. Wondering what my best procedure for flushing out the coolant system is. I have read as much as I can but am curious if I can use the coolant filter to help me much. Or if I just need more distilled water than any normal person ever buys.
Restores website says to use "plain water" I assume they mean distilled? How much Distilled water are people going thru? Last edited by rrobbins; 11-01-2012 at 10:33 AM. |

when i did my flush on mine I went through about 30 gallons total before it was coming out as clean as it went in. You can use tap water when you are flushing it and then flush it with some distilled water at the end to flush out the tap water.

That is correct you only need distilled for the final flush and fill of the system.
Just a reminder dispose of your flush properly antifreeze is poisoneous to people and small animals. |

24 gal of distilled after it clears up with tap, to get it to 7ph.
Sent from my phone that somebody didn't help me get. |
