Black smoke and power loss

I was having problems with after down shifting back down to around 2000 rpms it has a hard time getting past it and will black smoke a lot so i pulled the egr a cleaned it i did have to replace one of the O-rings and had to re-tap one of the holes that the bolt goes in the code for the EGR is gone but it is still having the loss of power, hard time getting past 2000 rpms after downshifting to that point and lots of black smoke but none white. Also the EGR was dry so i dont think that is the problem. I have a 06 F-0250 6.0 with around 108000 miles. Please help!!

Check your cac boots and exhaust flex joint for cracks/tears.

Sounds like it could be sticking turbo vanes.

Hey guys sorry to get back to you late it turns out it was my ficm it only read 30 volts when i checked it. I am having another issue however. There is a strange clicking type of noise i get a idle and acceleration but past 2000 rpms i can't hear it because of the engine noise and turbo

That sounds loud, my first thought when you said ticking noise is exhaust/manifold leak.

When i took it to Truck Source Diesel (diesel shop in San Antonio) they told me "Noise sounds like its the ac compressor but would like to look into it more. Remove fan and shroud ect. DO NOT RECOMMEND DRIVING TRUCK UNTIL FIXED, COULD CAUSE SEVERE DAMAGE" i turned off ac to see if that would stop the noise but i don't know if that would have stopped it
