no heat at idle??

When my truck is idling it blows cool air but once the rpms come up it starts to to blow hot air. First time i have used the heat since march. Any thoughts?

Thermostat? Do you have any way to monitor the coolant temp beside the dash gauge?

I chsnged my ficm and broke the coolant line going to the res. But had pulled out what was in the res prior to it breaking.going to the cat dealer tomorrow to get more.
