'04 Excursion code P2285

hey y'all, hoping someone can help me here. Truck ran great for last 123k miles, now at time when driving down road it feels like it is skipping and motor revs up but it is real choppy. it does not do this all the time. at other times it will be idling just fine then it gets choppy and just dies. When it does this at highway speeds it will blow a good size cloud of black smoke and then go back to normal. i took it to local auto parts store to have code read. it came up P2285.......ICP curcuit of range low..ECM has detected an out of range ICP sensor. Probable causes: open or short curcuit condition, Poor electrical connection, or Faulty ICP sensor. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated. thanks in advance everyone.

What year is your truck? Sounds like icp/pigtail is bad. You need a monitor. Read the stickies.

Edit: ok see you have an 04, is there a sensor located on the right front valve cover?

Sent from my phone that somebody didn't help me get.

Unfortunately had to Sell my ......2004 KR CC SWB FX4 - Edge insight cts, blue spring upgrade, updated HFCM drain plug, XDP coolant filter, CAT EC-1 rated coolant, Custom Diesel EGR delete, CAT delete, Rotella T6

Had buddy with scanner read it. EGR is plugged, and also he told me I have a good day of cleaning ALL the connections related to the fuel system. Thanks for the help. No misfires, no no injector issues.
