Is my VGT solenoid bad???

Truck makes a throaty noise without any whistle for about 5 minutes after startup
Turbo then spools and whistle and seems to run fine
Just wondering what might make the turbo take so long to spool.

'06 6.fail, studs, oem gaskets, cant seem to find egr, sct (innovative & tsd), hids, mbrp, afe, and a few others.. but if a duramax owner is asking its just a "stock, slow, pos"

I'd say you probably need to clean your turbo vanes

Hmm, I would have it scanned for codes then. Could be any number of things
