POWER LOSS
I am a new member but have been reading from the site for a long time. I purchased a 2004 F350 SD about a month ago and having many problems that seem to never end or get fixed. We have a long mountain hill were I live in Tenn that when pulling my 5th wheel (13500lbs) it barey will pull. I will be doing 70 mph at the bottom, half way up (2miles) I will be down to 55 mph with 24-25 psi boost then within about 5-6 seconds boost is down to 6-7 and I top the hill at less than 30mph. All gauges do not show any problems, there is no check engine light. I have had a high engine oil temp alarm a few times. It has shown code p2290 (injector control pressure too low). In the last month I have done the following: changed oil (shell rotella t syn 15-40), Rev X oil additive, oil filter, both fuel filters, high pressure fuel spring(blue), had turbo vains cleaned and a new uniun ring in turbo, larger oil drain tube, 3 glo plugs. Any help or ideals would be great because so far the mechanic has no ideal. Thanks

If you are talking about the dash guages, those will only respond to problems when it is too late. You need a monitor like edge insight, it will read stored codes.
Sent from my phone that somebody didn't help me get. |

I do have a Edge evolution to monitor with. The mechanic found that the HPOP is bad(only has1500 psi at WOT not 3000), also oil cooler is bad. Now my question is after doing a EGR delete, new HPOP, new oil cooler, a coolant filter system HOW reliable is this motor. I am thinking about selling it after having it only 6 weeks. Previous owner said he had new head gaskets install but he went back with head bolts not studs about a year ago. He did not use the truck to pull only daily driver.
