Truck in for service
Well, I had the Limp Home Light come on (Wrench) 5 times when I tried to tow my trailer 35 miles. I now have a turbo problem, EGR valve no good, need to replace EGR cooler and Oil cooler and a few other small things. At the dealer now, warranty and dealer should cover most of it. May also have HC blown, will only find out after they can test it, hope not... Going to get the blue spring upgrade done too, and any other small upgrades in the area they are working... I'll talk to the Tech...

The truck is getting fixed, today. The warranty is covering the turbo problem, I'm paying for the blue spring upgrade and new turbo oil drain pipe upgrade, and the dealer is paying for the rest. Did not have an argument they just said they are standing behind their truck and they will do the right thing, wow that is great this day and age... I bought my
F250 at a VW dealer too... |

sounds pretty ignorant if you let all that stuff go wrong before addressing any of it

I don't understand, what did I do to be ignorant? I got the truck on the 12th of July. 2012 and found out the engine was in need of repair about two weeks ago and had to wait a week for an appointment at the Ford dealer and it has been there since then... What is wrong? This is my first Ford truck and first diesel am I to stupid to own one? Or maybe I shouldn't post because I'm an idiot?
You got me on this one... Here is a thread; Picked up my 2005 F250 Yesterday Last edited by can05f250; 08-10-2012 at 08:57 PM. |

Oh, the person that owned it before me. I get it, finally. I'm slow ![]() I didn't want to buy one with problems, but since I did I was happy the dealer is good to help me with a $5700.00 bill to fix something that they didn't know was wrong with the engine... $5700 what the F*** was wrong with it? Hell you could get head studs and gaskets, egr delete, new oil cooler, and much more for less than that!!!

I'm in Canada and it's more expensive here. Also I have to go where the dealer and warranty company wanted me to go. What's wrong is Turbo housing and ring, EGR valve and cooler, oil cooler and maybe head gaskets. I have to put the EGR system back in for warranty...
Edit: After the warranty the EGR is going to be deleted... Last edited by can05f250; 08-10-2012 at 09:23 PM. |

I'm having diesel withdrawal symptoms, my truck has been in the shop almost a week
Find out tomorrow about the head gaskets (fingers crossed)

Got the truck back about four hours ago, the delta is between 3*- 5*. The turbo only needed to be cleaned and new unison rings, so the dealer paid about $4290.00 and I paid $88.00 for the blue spring upgrade.
Now, I'm going to look at doing a distilled water flush and change the coolant type to CAT... Before the Ford Gold is in the new parts too long...

I have to get the 105,000 mile scheduled maintenance done on Tuesday, wish I would have thought of it last week, when the truck was at the dealer for maintenance... The oil change and coolant change has just been done, so just have to get the rest of it done...
