Start/Crank without turbo installed
Hi,
As I'm continuing to troubleshoot/repair my High Pressure Oil system; I'm wondering if anyone's tried to start and or crank a 6.0 with the turbo removed? Ideally I'd just be cranking long enough to check for oil pressure at the ICP. Has anyone done this? If so, how did you do it? |

Not that I have ever known of. First ya would have to rig someway to deal with the oil that lubes the turbo. Un restricted oil flow I am not shure ya would be able to get enough low pressure oil to keep the hpop resivoir full.

Not a good idea, it would be an oily mess.
Sent from my phone that somebody didn't help me get. |

These aren't the kind of responses I expected... I can easily rig up something to divert the turbo feed, to the drain.
Where does everyone think the oil mess is going to come from besides the turbo feed line? I'm more worried about MAF, and other electrical connectors.... |

I know a guy posted on here not to long ago, that his wife cranked his truck up when he had the turbo out. He said it cranked up and made a big mess, but that was about it. Youll get codes youll have to clear later.
