I need some help on taking out my turbo...I got everything unbolted I think, i still cant get the thing to come out its like there is more boltes holding it down..
I took off 3 bolts two in front and one on the back side on the right...then I took 3 off from the bracket that is bolted to the block, 2 in front right and one that i can see in the back..is there a diagram some were with pics of how to take the turbo off??

there are three bolts that hold the turbo on. plus the oil feed line, vgt plug, and make sure you remove the 2 v band clamps on the back that connect the up pipe and the down pipe. these seize on usually. a pry bar will break them free of the pipes. then the turbo lifts off. the bracket stays on til the turbo is out but 4 bolts hold that. all bolts are 10mm and v band clamps are 11mm

You taking off just the turbo or turbo and pedestal? Should just be the clamp for exhaust, uppipes, intake, and hot air side. Then two bolts that hold the turbo to the pedestal and then clip that goes to the ebpv

I highly recomend completely removeing the turbo clamps, the darn things have a bad habit of jumping back in place and causeing the turbo to hang while trying to work it out.
A couple of prybars are quite usefull here also. |
