Exclamation quick fix???

Im getting egr valve codes and losing alittle antifreeze not in the oil. I just ordered the egr delete. BD Diesel 1090001 - BD Diesel EGR Delete Kits - Mobile SummitRacingEquipment.com that should take care of egr valve and cooler. I still have to gather the rest of the parts. But i have to still drive the truck. I thought about tacking egr valve closed or cleaning it good and unplugging it and removing thermostate. Any suggestions?

you'll still get the codes of course if you unplug it ,, but try just cleaning it and plugging it back in

I wouldn't pull the tstat the system will still have the same PSI in the coolant system ,,

on a 6.0 it can be deceiving on coolant loss because the Degas bottle has a level that varies due to different conditions throughout the day ,, so are you actually having to add ? if so how much

since you don't have any true signs of a bigger problem I would drive it myself

but I won't recommend that to anyone else ,, know what I mean ?

are you getting a tuner with the delete to bypass the CEL that will set off ?

also save that valve you may need to plug it in and zip tie it to the firewall to avoid cooling fan issues
