Oil pressure guage says 0psi., truck runs fine
Tonight, when I started my truck warm, the factory oil pressure guage dropped to nothing and the "check guages" light came on. The needle would alternate from normal operating range to nothing about eight times and then stayed at zero. It doesnt seem as if there is actually anything wrong with the oil pressure, as the truck runs and sounds normal. How often do the sending units go bad?

The factory dash gauge on the 6.0 is basically junk not much more than a idiot light.
They are prone to not working at all and accuracy is not a word used in the same sentance as factory gauge. |

Check the wiring by the sending unit, and back down the harness. The ok pressure, then zero, kinda leads me to believe you've damaged a wire, or you have a sender going out.
The factory gauges are idiot lights (with the minor exception of boost), its a reason I run an aftermarket oil gauge (along with others). |
