6.0L problems! need some help please!

My stock 2003 6.0 started hesitating a few weeks ago after towing a car and trailer (about 5,000lbs). Then it had a long crank time that eventually turned into a no start. Checked FICM and it was bad, 38V. Swapped it out with one that was from an 06 with a rebuild on it. Dealership did the flash on it and now it blows a lot of white smoke at idle and A LOT of black smoke when driving. Even if I'm slowly accelerating. Sometimes it will idle rough, sometimes its fine. I have plenty of power, turbo spools up fine. Been about 200 mi since I changed the oil, put in a new egr valve, I'm not losing coolant. No tunes, eot/ect delta is from 5-8 deg at all times. New radiator, only thing after market is the muffler. I have about 116,5xx miles on it. Sorry for being long winded I just need to get it fixed so my wife and I can take our trip to flaming gorge, Ut and tow our boat. So any help is appreciated!!!!

Edit: new motorcraft fuel filters too.

You need a monitor to pull codes. Sounds like overfueling.

Why does it matter what type of filter it is all filters do is filter and clean the oil and fuel and air. Please explain

I ran rotela in my 7.3 and frame filters in it for years and never had a problem been running rotela in my 6.0 with all the spec they requir to be in the oil and frame oil filter and never had a problem so I don't know jmo I guess thank for the info tho guys

Also here in my ford maintenance and specufication book it says motorcarft of oil conforming to ford specification it up to u guys jmo

Yea, I have a 7.3 with 309k on it, I use rotella and a motorcraft on that because I can get it from walmart, it is obviously not a cartridge type filter. So the concerns with the cartridge type filter do not apply to the 7.3. But I see you are having starting problems on your truck, maybe you should consider using the oem cap and motorcraft or racor filters. And noone is disputing the use of rotella?
