2004 F350 No start.
Hi,
It's just another 6.0 that will not start. Yesterday morning and all day it was running fine, no hesitance, no jerking, no smoke and no codes. After coming home last night it idled perfectly fine, I shut it off like I did any other day. I went to go get some dinner afterwards (maybe 30-45 minutes from shut off) and it would not start, it showed code p2285. I unplugged the ICP and it did not do anything, just cranked and cranked. FICM has ~47.9v. I replaced the ICP and still nothing, checked wiring, it is in good condition. I erased the code, cycled the key a few times and let it sit for ~1 minute with the key on the on position, cycled the key a few more times and the code came back up. The truck is on a charger at the moment to make sure that it does not die. Any thoughts? I also just changed the oil and used a NAPA 7312 oil filter (if that changes or means anything). Any pointers would be greatly appreciated. |

UPDATE:
the p2285 code went away after changing the oil filter and cap to a motorcraft one. Now it cranks slightly slower than before but it sounds like it is attempting to fire. any advice? |

Thank you, the p2285 went away today but I will check if it came back later on today.
I plugged in the block heater and the batteries are on a charger and I will try starting it tonight. |
