another disapearing coolant question
truck had been sitting all week, I leave and get about a mile from home and I see a puff of blue smoke out the tailpipe. I check and the degas bottle is empty,no signs of puking on the outside. I top it off and monitor the EOT's and the ECT's . They are normal with a 8 to 10 degree delta. I drive it today ,get it up to temp, and the degas bottle is empty when I get home. Loosen the cap (it has pressure on it) and coolant flows back into the bottle. I pulled the EGR valve out yesterday and cleaned it ( it was totally sooted up). I do not smell coolant out the tailpipe or see any water coming out , nor do I see any obvious engine leaks. EGR valve was'nt wet when I took it out.. what do ya'll think, egr cooler? thanks

I had these same symptoms right before my EGR Cooler went out on me. May or may not be the same thing. I have been doing different things to my truck here lately and a bulletproof EGR or an EGR Delete is next on the list! Good luck with it.

Yep sounds like you EGR "Cooler" done went out! Better replace it or better yet DELETE before you pop those headgaskets!

I'm still under extended warranty with Ford , so I'm scheduled to take it to them. Question : if they replace the egr cooler , won't the oil cooler also need to be replaced ??? I would like to delete the egr junk but I'm sure the dealership won't agree to that. Taking it in tomorrow afternoon, so any advice is appreciated. It's kinda disgusting with only 55k miles on her.....
