Oil Filter Cap 2004 F250 Issue
I was changing my oil last evening and pulled the oil cap and just happened to look in the cap and there is what I assume a piece of plastic that moves up and down and acts as some sort of bypass valve. The problem is in the center where the oil filter touches the center of the cap the plastic was busted. I figured a simple fix so I called all the parts stores and NONE had a cap except orileys. Of course it would happen when no dealers are open. I went down to orileys and looked at the cap but the plastic piece that is broken is not in the cap which does me no good. Has anybody else had this issue? Should I go to ford tomorrow and buy OEM or order and overnight a billet cap of some sort or stay away from that? Recommendations Please.

I am thinking the cap you have now is not oem
there is just a couple of tabs in the cap to locate the filter IIRC |
