No crank 2006 6.0l

I have a 2006 F250 6.0 FX4. The last several days it has had long crank when cold and a shorter but longer than normal crank when hot. Went to warm it up before work this morning and the first time I cycled it it cranked but then stopped. Now it will not crank at all. I have tried poking around the forums, but I was unable to find an diagnosis that was similiar to my situation. Just looking for thoughts and ideas of what/where I should be looking as I don't have a huge bankroll and will probably be doing the repairs myself. Truck is mostly stock with the exception of a DIY muffler/cat delete and a K&N air filter that came on it when I bought it. Currently use a Bullydog strictly as a monitor, no tunes installed, and everything looks fine. Edge CTS on order.

Well if the engine is not hydolocked due to fuel or coolant in the cylinders, then it could just be a bad starter.

Ok, that's pretty straight forward. Any suggestions on which brand? Autozone, O'Reilly, Napa, Motorcraft?
