Oil temp sencer

Can someone please tell me where the Oil Temp Senser is located? 2005 F-450
Also do they fail very often?

Thanks for the reply. Some times it seems to run about 10 degs lower then the coolant temp. then it moves kinda fast to about normal (5-6 degrees above.) Some mornings at start up it is 7-8 degrees lower then coolant temp. After sitting all night.

I will also check for loose wire.

That actually sounds normal. Your oil temp with typically start out lower then once the truck comes up to temp it should be slightly higher. Keep in mind deltas should ideally be checked at operating temp (190-205) cruising 65mph unloaded. That will give you a better idea.
