timing cover

I have a leak inside the timing cover . I was told by a teck that the seal came off the crank and and chewed up the crank and he can't find another seal that will work. What would you do in case like this ?? Thanks Dave

The timeing gears on a 6.0 are on the back of the engine. The front cover is just a cover altho I stiil call it the timeing cover also at times. If the front seal is damaged that is actually the low pressure oil pump. Depending on the damage done you could need a new oilpump and seal or a new cover as well. The crank would need to be cleaned up as well and miced to see if a wear sleave would be needed. A cover gasket set may be needed as well.
