7 screw ficm question
Yesterday truck was fine, today its falling on its face. Getting p261, 264, for all 8 injectors. Took the small plate off of the 7 screw ficm.
If I am standing at the drivers tire looking at the ficm, the bottom right screw has 11.8 volts with the key on. Is this the correct screw to check? |

As far as I know the seven screw needds to be checked on the top not bottom screw closest to the firewall. there is a good vid on youtube.

Yup, that screw goes from 48 volts with the key on to 17 volts while cranking. Whos got the best write-up for repairing these? |

I have the 7pin and used the instructions for the 4pin to resolder and repair mine. It worked perfect and have had no FICM issues since then. http://www.bscustoms.net/diesel/FICM.pdf
FYI... if I recall correctly, the resistors are a little different looking and in different location but were easy to locate and repair. |

Re-soldered it, now i get a whopping 19 volts while cranking. Now what do i do?
I got to drive this truck for a whole week after replacing the icp before this garbage started. Its about time to end this insanity, get rid of this piece of ford, and buy a toyota tundra. |
