early 6.0 ficm wire color doesnt match
replacing the Ficm x3 harness plug on an early 03, the replacement plug is from a later model, all of the wire colors match (I did each splice one at a time) the last one has a violet/orange wire coming from pin 7 on the ficm side, the engine harness remaining wire is a white/yellow (or tan). I can't find any color schematics to verify this is the correct wire. Can anyone help? I don't want to fry another ficm
thanks |

I don't have a color schematic but if you kept the old plug and pigtail open the harness up all the way on the pigtail and see if the wire from pin 7 doesn't split off with a splice and see if the color matches up.

that is a great idea, sadly the old pigtail has already been thrown out. I replaced the ficm, it went bad, I found two wires shorted on injector 5, I bought a new injector harness and just want to make sure I'm not going to fry the new ficm.....this 6.0 has gotten really expensive

Thanks for all the help, after the rebuilt ficm, new fuel injection harness, truck now starts and will idle for 15 or more minutes, touch the accelerator and it dies. Starts back up, I'm going to check fuel filters next, the hpop is only a year old.
