Odd surge on acceleration
So I just completed the following
Restore and Restore+ flushes EGR Delete Replaced turbo Y pipe EGT Probe install Oil Cooler replacement Updated turbo oil feed and drain lines Updated standpipe and dummy plugs Converted to Rotella T6 New oil and fuel filters Blue spring upgrade FICM Resolder Truck is running great except that sometimes on acceleration I will get a small surge where the engine jumps like I goosed the pedal a bit. After the blurp in RPM's it continues accelerating just like normal. It didn't do this before, I thought it might be air making its way out of the oil system, but it's been over 100 miles and it's still does it. It doesn't do it all the time. Checked it and there isn't any codes Any thoughts? |

Icp, hopefully you don't have an 03

Nope I have an 04.
I was going to try swapping the ICP and the IPR and see if that helped at all. |

all you'd have to do is unplug the icp and it will run on a default strategy. if it goes away replace the icp sensor. got an update on where your at? you sure your turbo isn't sticking?

Ahh I was under the impression you couldn't drive it with the ICP disconnected.
Right now i've just been driving it to see if it's still air working itself out of the system. Not sure if it's my imagination but I think it may be happening less. Guess i'll give a few more days and see. |

So an update, took it to the dealer to have my PCM flashed to get my insight working with all PIDs. So far it's running even better, just sits there and idles smooth as butter. The surge is less often and not as strong.

You may want to try a oil additive like rid-x and a diesel additive, you may have a little striction going on.

I've been thinking of doing a rev-x treatment, I also run diesel additive on every tank, well i've only owned the truck for 2 tanks so it hasn't been much yet.

Mine does the same thing. i installed a hpop gauge, thats when it started. I've un hooked the gauge and it does it less often, and when it does it, its less of a surge. It also seems to happen more often in my tow tune, when not towing, than it does in my DD x race from IDP. But when it does it with the hpop gauge hooked up the gauge bounces all over the place. i ordered a new pig tail for the gauge, bc i had to modify the pig tail to make it fit. now I've learned to pullout the lil white cup in icp plug. will see what that does. Im running a double dose of rev x oil additive, can't tell if it is helping, bc the truck runs so much smoother with that stuff anyways.
