Code po272 and white smoke and no power intermitent
I have a 2005 Ford F250 6.0 liter
Yesterday morning I went out to start the truck and it started but was blowing white smoke. When I put in drive it had little to no power. It would barely move. With in drive the gas pedal had no response when pressed down. The engine would choke and die. If I shifted in back to park before the engine choked out it would continue to run. The engine will start right back up each time. after about 10 to 15 minutes of this the engine began to smoke less and the power came back. I was able to drive it home about 30 miles with no problems.
It has a trouble code of Po272 which I know is the #4 cylinder contribution level.
Also over the last 6 months my fuel mileage has dropped from 18mpg to 13 to 14 on average.
also i am using a super chip programer and yesterday it was in the fuel saver setting. The day before I had drove the truck about 500 miles in this setting with no problems. Had parked the truck over night and the problem above was the next morning.
My Diesel Mechanic thinks it is a fuel pump issue. I am just trying to educate my self any help would be appreciated.
