Miss under load?
Hi there, new user. So I have a 2006 F250 that I bought a couple months ago and its been nothing but a problem child so far. Thankfully I bought a after-market warranty. So far the FICM has been replaced, a new cam sensor, just had the EGR valve replaced last week. So now I was driving up a grade in B.C. and when the truck is under full load in 5th gear lockup it starts to miss. It makes a bit of a popping noise and there is quite a bit of black smoke out the exhaust. Other than noticing a bit more black smoke under acceleration the truck runs fine any other time. Any suggestions to what is going wrong would be helpful!

Check the wiring harness to the turbo and have the turbo inspected for wear on the actuator ring also make sure your air filter is clean sounds like lack of air to me

Thanks for the tip, planning on taking it to the dealership tomorrow, I was able to record the popping noise on my phone. I will check the air filter, as the previous owner put a K&N air filter on. Will post the results as soon as I find out.
