White exhaust-coolant loss-UPDATE

Hi everybody
my friend came over and hooked up his OBD/EOBD scanner. No Codes!
We looked at the dipstick and saw a greenish-black, creamy deposit. Coolant in the oil?
This appears to be another indicater of EGR coolant failure. All-Data says this can be mistaken for head gaskets, but I plan to replace the cooler first with a bullet Proof Diesel model.
So the truck is down, hard. can only replace what i can afford, and that does not include the local dealer...yet.
Thanks to all for your input!
