low coolent
I took my 2005 6.0 to the shop last fall the coolent was low, also the coolent temp was low so thought would change fluid and thermostat. When I got the rig in shop they took out the egr valve and showed it to me, was dirty and carboned up and had a couple of drops of moisture. They told me it needed the 100,000 mile tune-up. I have 125,000 on it and they said this would cost $7,000.00 is this expected or if I make a few other modifications can I get it fixed??

Run away don't walk RUN AWAY from that shop. Sounds like your EGR cooler may have a small leak or it could be just oil from the CCV system, I'm thinking the later since you say a few drops. Put in a delete kit yourself there are tons of DIY threads on the forums for this. It's not hard to do just a little time consuming and awkward. If you do all the crap the dealers tell you your truck "must" have done to it you would need a second job.
