13 degree delta at IDLE!!!!!!

I just bought an 06 f350 LB, CC, SRW, 4x4 with 102,000 miles. The place I bought it from said it had been blowing white smoke and they replaced the egr with a new OEM one (not sure why they did that) anyway, the truck showed 13 degree deltas warmed up but basically running at idle, not at highway speeds. So what should I expect for "true" deltas and how fast do I need to do an oil cooler, Egr delete? I'm planning on driving 2 hours both ways to a cabin this weekend and need the 4x4. The egr is brand new, has only 300 miles on it so as long as it will hold am I "safe" for not hurting the motor? I have been on the forum a while so I know what needs to be done but I don't know if the local 6.0 repair pro in town can do it this week. Am I ok for another 300 miles at highway speeds and temps. I will not be towing anything if that helps. Thanks guys.

What do you mean by "13 degree delta"?

You need to replace your oil cooler. Before you do anything if you're seeing 13 at idle.

As to why they put an EGR back in. Its against fed law for dealers to delete emissions equipment

There are SOOO many potentials here. Coolant flow issues. Could be EGR cooler, Oil cooler, water pump, head gaskets....Can you get some more info....I just went thru EGR delete and water pump replacement....I got to know the system very well during the process...I might be able to help you with my new found knowledge

i don't know anything else yet but i do have some questions. Is anyone using a different oil cooler than the BPD? there is a performance diesel shop here that said he just uses an OEM oil cooler and doesn't even do a full coolant flush. doesn't that seem like it will just have the same problem 50,000 miles down the road? also, my truck is a manual transmission, should I be worried about the stock tunes that come on the 3 position SCT tuner? i know they may not be the best tunes, but are they problematic? thanks guys
