Possibly tps or a bad accelerator sensor. It would help to know what year truck we are talking about. an 03 0r early 04 has only one reostat in the accelerator pedal. 05 and up went to a redundant system. Les chance of a bad pedal sensor.
Mine was having troubles where if you pushed on the pedal, it would just blow lots of smoke and barely creep along... It would do this for 20 - 30 seconds until it got moving a little, then it would start to build boost, and then take off all of a sudden.
I wound up cleaning the turbo and EGR valve and it has been fine ever since.
Mine was either a stuck open EGR or sticky VGT. Problem was intermittent, some days it would run fine, others I couldn't get it to pull into the garage unless I was rolling pretty fast down the street and drifted it in.
icp sensor is messed up i think i unplugged it started the truck and the pedal workd...took off icp sensor cleand it now it works fine, feels like its needed this for awhile, big performs difference better mpg thanks for help guys.
