EGR Valve Question
Ok heres my problem and i hope someone out there can help me understand this or shed some light on it for me. My truck is a 06 with the 6.0 and when i take off its dumping bluish white color smoke from the exhaust. It only seems to do it when its up at it normal operating temperature. Today i pulled off the egr valve and cleaned it up nicely and it still smoked. So i decided to unplug the egr valve and take it for a test drive and the smoke seems to be gone. So i pull over and plug it BACK in and go for another drive and its smoking again???? . The truck also seems to spool boost faster and make alittle more power. Can someone tell me whats going on and would it be safe for me to just leave the egr valve unplugged while it drive it.

i have mine unpugged. havent really noticed any difference. obviously its better to get the full delete and remover the egr valve to increase flow. sure the exhaust pressure can still force the valve open, but it seems to be working for me. there is still exhaust gas in the cooler, but its not circulating and creating heat though the coolant is stll flowing through it.

Van-boy how long have you had it unplugged and you havent noticed any problems from it. Im just confused on why it smokes when its plugged in but unplugged, no smoke?

ive had it unplugged for about 3 months now. i used the search and found others on here have had it unplugged for years with no problems.
as for the smoke, no idea. just a guess. is the polarity reversed on the clip forcing it to stay open when plugged in and closed when unplugged??? i plan on getting the spool to eliminate the egr valve altogether. looking for a plate from the y tube to the cooler to block off exhaust gas, if they make such a thing or if it will even fit with the factory clamp |
