oil level growing
new to the diesel world, have an 04 6.0 with 40k miles checked oil level over high mark??? not sure where to look EGR?? leak any help Please

![]() ![]() ![]() First, are you sure it's growing, or was it just overfilled? What does the oil smell like? Coolant, diesel? If you can't tell, but you're sure it's growing, I'd send it to Blackstone Labs to get it tested for what EXACTLY is in it. |

Ok, It was FOR SURE under the mark before? Both times was it on level ground? Most of the time when the oil level goes up its a fuel problem.

Thanks for the quick response, rechecked maybe ok truck was not quite level. also i need to change coolant was told not to use ford gold any ideas?? sorry for the knee jerk just dont want anything to happen to the truck untill have more experience with the diesel

The general consensus is that Ford Gold is bad. It's best to get a good Extended Life coolant, like from a truck stop, or semi dealer.
