Blue smoke when cold.
I posted a few weeks back about oil commig out of my tail pipe. It comes and goes. It's also starting to smoke when I start to dive it after sing warmed up for about 5-10 min. Smokes blue for the first shift the clears up. If I stop right away it smokes like crazy but once I start going again and clears up and doesn't do it again. Ficm reads constant 48-49 volts. Started after putting second reman turbo on, blue smoke and oil in pipe still. Any ideas????

EGR valve itself.....My 06 did the exact same thing when new...did it again a year later......carbon build up .....I may be wrong, but its easy to check.....5 minutes...2 screws and a pair of pliars.....I take an old tooth brush to it....I also make sure its housing is clean before i re-install....shop vac....
Thats my two cents.....Sean |

My truck is doing the same thing on stock tune...very light blue smoke on first cold start...gets worse after 10 minute idle and move. The first couple of stops blows blue smoke but dissipates the longer I drive it and is almost invisible at operating temp.
With my SRL tune, it still smokes a little at start up, but does not smoke when I drive it. The EGR makes total sense as the tune turns it off. |
