New heads
My new heads should be in tomorrow or the next day and I'm wondering if I need to do anything specific for this motor before I install them. I've heard some say you HAVE TO put it at TDC and others say TBC. I know the block needs to be cleaned so it's a nice clean smooth surface but other than that Idk. One other thing I'm curious about is I noticed the head gaskets (OEM) have 5 layers to them with 1 layer being slightly different, anyone know which way faces up and down? Does it matter? Thanks, Preston

Crankshaft dowel pin on damper at six o'clock. Head gaskets only install one way onto block. If you look closely enough when you place the gaskets onto the dowels of the block, it will be immediately self-evident whether or not you have it installed correctly.
