The first boot off of the turbo is bad about blowing on the downside, the only way you will know is if you take it off or look with a mirror. Also the oil out of your crankcase vent sits on the low side of the boots and they are prone to leaking there, so from the top they LOOK good but they migt still have a hole in them. If you still have the stock intercooler, it is prone to cracking on the plastic caps on each end. Check all of this and you will probably discover the problem. If not start looking on the exhaust pipes coming up to the turbo.

the boot that comes off the turbo i put my hand all the way around it and it didnt seem like it was oily or any tears. i dont have the stock plastic one i have the metal one like the 03 engines. so you think it could be a exhuast leak?

I was not talking about the plastic IC tubes I was talking about the ends of the intercooler itself. One of mine blew one time, only lost about 5 psi boost, drove me crazy til I got mad and took all of the boots out of the truck, one of them had a small hole in it.

What are your boost numbers? Exhaust leaks should be pretty noticable by sounds and show up with soot all over the nearby components.

intercooler tank gaskets can blow out too, usually you can see the gasket hanging out
