'06 with a new noise at start up

My '06 just recently started making a screeching sound at start up. The noise comes about 2-3 seconds after start up and lasts only a second or two. My fuel mileage also dropped down to about 10.5 mpg reguardless of whether i'm on back roads or highways. Truck has an S&B intake, 4 inch mbrp, and and SCT tuner with the preloaded performance program. had a new FICM about a year ago and 2 new injectors put in at the same time. Any help would be appreciated.

Check idler pulley, I'm guessing a bearing is going.

SCT, no studs...yet, Dual OEM intake air filter housings, Banks intercooler & intake elbow, Banks exhaust system, Windrunner ported intake manifold, Bullet Proof Diesel remote oil cooler & thermostat, AirDog2 (plus a couple spares), Power steering filter (Amsoil dual-bypass), MagTec deep ATF pan, Electric oil pre-lub pump, Dakota Digital gauges.

The truck has had about 30k miles since i've owned it so they are at least that old. I dont know for sure though. It doesnt really sound like a belt though, its more of a metal on metal sound.

does your AC work ok? if you dont think its the belt or he tensioner, could be the clutch on the AC compressor.

Doesnt matter wether you're using it or not, the compressor does cycle on when you you the defrost as well. Only thing I can suggest is unplug the clutch or pull the relay for it and see if the noise persists
