Why pay 2000 for an BPD oil cooler?

Just out of curiosity would creating a custom oil cooler for a 6.0 using a simple air to oil cooler work just as well as the BPD oil cooler? Why does it cost so much F$%^#$ money for just a radiator, oil filter, and relocation hardware? could i use something like this and get the same result:

+1000 to this they did get it PERFECT in every way. I love mine. In my opinion it is the best mod that I have ever done to any vehicle. It is top grade materials, the fit is perfect, and it just plain works like they say it will. Well worth the $2k.

No because of the transfer block for one. 2 because of the Tstat and 3 because of the volume needed

Yea it's not JUST a radiator, some hardware, and filter mount.

well, the CNC machined hunk of aluminum oil transfer unit to replace the OEM is a healthy portion of that $2k

It comes in a box that will take up the entire back seat of a crew cab. This is not some little upgrade, lots of research, development and design went into this product. It completely eliminates the most faulty portion of design in the 6.0 motor.

Its not cheap modding a diesel, and this mod will help ensure the engine makes it to the 350,000 mile mark Navistar rates it at.
