So, my 2006 has 140000 miles on it, and only 40k on the new motor. Ford has replaced the injectors and main rear at 85k, and at 99k number 2 & 6 had no compression. So they put a new short block in.
I had asked them why the engine had gone bad and they could not tell me why. About 4 months later the check engine light came on and the Injection Control Module was bad, so I replaced it. Now, 13 months later and 40k miles later, I brought it in to a independent shop for an oil leak. He looked it over and found that the heads were leaking oil. According to Ford they only warranty thier warranty work for 12/12k...I find this to be crap considering they warranty the original engine for 5/100k. I've talked with Ford "customer care" and they told me there's nothing they can or will do for me. So, now I have the option of fixing it, or replacing it. I'm seriously debating on converting to a 5.9L Cummins. Any Suggestions? |

Heres what I was thinking if I dont do the convert...
-Head Gaskets and Studs -EGR Delete -Injectors -Glow Plugs Any other suggestions? I figure its gonna cost $10k to do the Cummins, so if I do this work I want to do it so I dont have any more issues with this thing. |

10k is about right for a cummins conversion. the old 12v is simple whether u go VE or P7100 (P-pump best imo).
