Blown head now what

Well its confirmed that i have blown headgastek. Dealership wants 4,032 to fix it. I am wondering how hard it is to do yourself. Dont really have any experience working on motors. lol

well it can be done. if you know somebody with a lift, lifting the cab makes if so much easier. there are several things which must be done tho. use arp heads studs, OEM ford gaskets, install an egr delete or BPD cooler, flush coolant prior to repair, replace oil cooler if deltas are bad, replace stc fitting with newer one, stand pipes, dummy plugs, turbo oil drain and feed tubes. u must make sure that your heads are removed at taken to a good machine shop that does diesel work and checks them for cracks and flattness of needed. also, head and block must be prepped.

I have decided that due to the high failure rate of the 6.0 heads, I'm just bitting the bullet and buying new heads from the stealership. (meaning not buying remanned, possibly hack job welded repaired)
