check engine light HELP PLEASE

i have a 04 6.0. ran all day fine. got out to my truck tonight started it up and the light came on. seems to be running fine and all the gauges seem to be ok. any ideas what could cause it. i do know that when its cold it runs like a t total piece of crap. i figured it was injector stiction but not sure if its related. any ideas

There are just so many things it could be. You need to get it scanned see what codes are there. Otherwise we are just guessing.

ok ran the test. a p2285 code came up. ICP any have any info on this??

Is it an early or late 04 model? You can tell by looking at the front of the passenger side valve cover right under the GPCM. If the ICP sensor threads into the valve cover then it is a late 04.

its an early 04 truck with an 03 motor. is this simple to fix? what exactly is it.

Your ICP sensor is junk. Probably leaking oil into the connector. You need to replace the sensor and splice in a new pigtail. It's a PITA on the 03 engines because it's under the turbo.

It also said something on the scanner like low flow or something. Well if it's something I could do it home that would be great. Don't wanna spend a fortune at a shop. My check engine light actually went off today after I put fuel in. Kinda weird but it sounds like a typical sensor problem. Would the sensor being bad cause it to run bad cold?

I get this code every once in a while too... Truck runs like a champ though! I just clear it with my cts.... It is a late 04. Is this something common? Will it hurt anything?

It probably said (ICP) injection Control Pressure circuit low. You can do it at home, it's just a pain to get to.

Yours should be on the top of the passenger side valve cover towards the front. You can remove it and clean the end and see if it helps. Also, look for oil inside the connector. If oil is present, replace sensor and pigtail.
