2006 6.0

bought a 2006 6.0psd cc with 42k on it for 22$k, i bought it without knowing the exten of this motors problems. did i get screwed, is it a solid engine if left stock, also its in shop for oil cooler as i also purchased fords 30k mile warranty, can a blown oil cooler lead to other problems, i would like to just know what to tell the techs to look at now rather than to have to come back a week later and pay another 100 dollar deductible. thanks

Yes as described in another thread replace the EGR cooler as well cause when one goes out the other follows shortly.

I agree with Dannyboy, if you replace one you must replace the other... and might I add if you can get the steelership (or whatever shop you may be using) I suggest you get the Bulletproof Diesel EGR cooler if you wish to keep an EGR cooler on your ride, or just get a EGR delete.

yeah its at the dealership o bought a 3 yr 30k warranty on it, do you think that they would install a bulletproof egr cooler or a egr delete on it under warrranty? i know i need to save up the $ so the minute the truck is out of warranty i can do the egr delete, other than arp studs which i dont think ill need cause i dont work it hard and wont chip it, is there anything else i will need to do to help bulletproof it.
