still smoking white

ABout a month ago my truck was smoking white real bad for a long time....finally got time to drop it off at ford which they say egr cooler is bad and they will replace that and oil cooler for 2500....i got my truck back and bout the river city kit with the delete kit, new oil cooler, arp studs, and new gaskets....the mechanic i had do the work is a certified ford diesel tech...he said he also cleaned the turbo and fixed one of the rings that was stuck close and now i have a lot more power....anyway he said it will still smoke because of something with the turbo but he said drive it like ya stole it and it should go away...drove it home bout an hour driving it hard letting the turbo get a lot of work....its still smoking quite a bit....could it just be burning off all the **** that has been in the exhaust from smoking before and i just have to drive it more or what? I still need to have rcd write me tunes for the sct tuner i have to still plug in....will this fix the issue too?

if the cooler ruptured in such a way that the turbo was full of coolant and got down in the exhaust, yes it will take a while for the smoke to be completely gone. I just did a really bad one that was traded in and i repaired a week ago, have been driving it every day the past week to get lunch and the smoke is just starting to dissipate. But i warn you, cleaning the turbo, you can NOT clean the CHRA side of the turbo, only the exhaust housing where the vanes are. If the unison ring seized to the CHRA hub... i dont even bother with CHRAs i replace the whole unit. So if the unison ring was seized to the CHRA, 1800 for a new turbo is worth it or deal with surging and not operating perfectly.
