Topside fuel filter standpipe missing pieces??

I was installing the blue fuel pressure spring kit today and new filters as well. When I removed the Fuel filter on top of the engine I notice 4 pieces on the very top of the stand pipe were broken off and missing. I'm guessing this is where the filter is supposed to clip on while the cap is reinstalled. Has anybody else had this problem and found where those pieces have ended up? Or does anybody have any idea what this can affect? My best guess is, and hope, is they are in the banjo bolt/check. I just ordered the 6.4 banjos from Tousley Ford and will find out soon enough if that's where the plastic pieces are, but looking for input. Thanks guys

No, I've never seen that but now that you mention it I did run across this on EBAY. It definitely caught my attention

I never did find em. When I did the 6.4 banjos, i pulled the lines completely out to see if i could tell if they were in there, but no find. To help myself sleep better, I just tell myself the previous owner must broke them off with aftermarket filters and hopefully pulled em out. The new stand pipe doesnt have em. Updated i guess. As far as what they were for, my best guess is to hold the filter down and in place while you reinstall the cap

Yes I replaced it. I don't think It wasn't affecting anything but I just didn't like it being a reminder every time i change the fuel filters.

There are some of the aftermaret filters that the tabs won't fit in the cap altho there is useually an adapter. The previouse change they may broken off the tabs.

FWIW you are supposed to snap the filtter into the cap before installing the filter into the houseing.
