A Test For All You Brainiacs
This is happening with a friend of mine:
He parks his 2002 7.3 uphill, it won't start. Park it facing downhill, it starts. No joke. He has replaced the following with OEM parts: Cam sensor, IPR, both fuel filters and the HPOP. Who knows the answer to this riddle? I need to help him out as the stealership already nailed him for over $4K to do the above before I got to him. Thanks in advance for any ides you might have. I have an '06 PSD so I don't have any trends to share with him and I have spent literally hours scanning this forum, so today I said uncle and posted. Thanks! |

I would pull the reservoir plug on top of the oil reservoir and make sure there is oil in the reservoir when facing up hill. If there is no oil in there put some in there till its full and see if itll start. I know theres a antidrain back valve in that system but not too sure where)thought it was in the HPOP), dont work on a whole lot of 7.3s compared to 6.0s and 6.4s.
