Need advice

Ok so my truck has been doing this off and on for 4 or so months. Sometimes when I come to a stop and then go to go when the engine sounds clogged. It pours out white smoke and will accelarate but ever so slow meanwhile pouring out smoke. It seems to shift up a gear and continues untill suddenly you hear the turbo spool up and blow its last smoke colum then runs fine. Truck does not do this evertime just every now and then. Anybody know what might be wrong or had this happen to them? Need help soon, thanks for looking.

turbo is what I was thinking myself. guess i'll clean the turbo this weekend and pop the egr valve off and see what it looks like. Another question on that note is I've been told that the gasket in the housing (green big one) isn't there on the 03's....any thought

Agree with the sticking turbo and possible sticking EGR valve but not sure what gasket or housing your talking about?

umm when you take the turbo apart to clean the vanes.....is there something there or no? Well tomorrow going to pull the egr valve out and see what it looks like....I cleaned it about a year ago and we'll see how it is now as for the turbo maybe this weekend.

thanks.....by the way I believe that it is a dirty egr.....pulled and cleaned it with a small brush today. Was told that if even a small peice of something gets stuck and leaves the valves open which will cause power lost and lots of white smoke.....time will tell now.

little update.....no wetness by the way. Pulled a egr valve out of a 05 wrecked with low miles today and put in my truck. Drove the truck a little today but had no issues. Think I solved the problem but time will tell will update in a few days after some more driving test.
