03 6.0 fuel pressure

ok, put a gage on the test port of the fuel bowl to see the current pressure.
that day it was 35 psi,so i figured i had a bad pump, bought a brand spanky new one. and now the fuel pressure is 20 and holding.
the truck runs great! but will not produce anymore tha 20 psi.
what could i be missing.
New filter, stage 1 fuel lines. fuel crossover line in the back
NO LEAKS
im stumpes! anyone else have this prob or simular?

Upgrade to the blue spring fuel pressure regulator. It raises the pressure to about 70, much better for the injectors, and takes no more than 45 mins of your time.

You probably don't have a problem its just the spring gets weak

Quite sure you have already double checked but maybe take apart the fpr and make sure everything is seated correctly? Other than that possible your gauge is incorrect? Try a different gauge just to confirm?
